BMW Ghost Immobiliser

The Ghost utilizes the CAN data bus for communication with your vehicle. This prevents thieves from replacing the ECU or installing a new lock to bypass the security system.

In contrast to other immobilisers, unlike other immobilisers, the Ghost does not use LED indicators or key fobs. It uses the buttons on your vehicle to allow you to enter a unique disarming sequence that you can only remember.

Stop & Start

If you've previously driven a BMW or utilized its stop-start feature, you might have noticed that the engine continues to run for a period of 30 seconds after you have released the brake pedal. The BMW engine management system continues to watch the vehicle for a signal emanating from the ignition key. Once it finds this, the vehicle will continue to run. The Autowatch 2 Ghost is a device that stops this by stopping the vehicle when you press a button.

Our BMW ghost immobiliser, which is a next-generation device, doesn't require you to cut OEM wires or to add key fobs or alarms from the aftermarket. It is connected to the BMW CAN data network and is programmed with a unique PIN code that can be accessible through buttons on your car. This allows you to enter the key push sequence that isn't available in the usual media menus, such as volume up/down and source, cruise control or air conditioning on, which prevents your car from starting until the sequence is entered. The PIN is between 4 and 20 characters, making it hard for thieves to figure out.

In addition, we can also add a service/ valet mode to the system. This is activated when your vehicle is in for servicing to ensure that the Ghost remains hidden from the garage. You can activate this by pressing the service button 5 times on your infotainment system (the system will flash in confirmation) and the Ghost will automatically arm itself when you return.

Service Mode / Valet Mode

The Ghost is a top-of-the-line immobiliser designed to stop your vehicle from being stolen by key cloning and hacking. It utilizes the factory buttons of your vehicle to create an unique push sequence that only you know. This is similar to the pin code security on your mobile phone. Its discreet and incredibly effective and dissuading even the most determined thieves from ever trying!

If you're parked at your home or in a meet and greet in a meeting and greet situation, the Ghost can be set to service mode. This allows you to start the vehicle with your keys, but it stops the engine from restarting until the correct code is entered. This is perfect for customers who have to transfer their vehicles to valet services or trusted family members or friends. This allows you to bring your vehicle to the garage for maintenance or repairs, etc. without having to worry that it will be altered by an expert mechanic while you wait.

Once the service/valet mode is activated and enabled, your BMW is unable to drive after it has been turned on. This prevents anyone else from attempting to drive it while you're away. After you return, it will return to normal driving, stopping your car from being damaged or stolen once again.

We can install the Ghost to any BMW, all you need is the right keys as the device doesn't use the original remotes and can be used alongside them. If you don't wish to use a mobile device or aren't at ease with it, we offer an optional Bluetooth tag that can be used to disable the Ghost. This is an extra cost and requires a different Bluetooth pairing.

Anti-Hijack

Ghost developed this discreet, unobtrusive device to combat the ever-increasing sophistication of high-tech thieves. It is designed to prevent thieves from using an ignition key or replacing the ECU to start your vehicle and drive it off. Ghost connects to your CAN data network, and utilizes the buttons in your vehicle (steering wheel, centre console and door panels) to create a unique push sequence which needs to be completed before the engine can start.

Once the anti-hijacking mode is activated, any attempt to restart the engine will be stopped. When the system determines that the vehicle is no longer moving, it will honk the horn and flash the indicators. If it is not able to find the correct code it will also stall the engine (where possible). By entering your push sequence or entering service mode, you can disable the Anti-Hijack function. This allows your vehicle to be temporarily started without the need to enter the PIN.

If you own an GPS device that is connected to your BMW, you can make use of it to disable the Anti-Hijack function so that you can continue to use your navigation system when the vehicle is stationary. You can also use your smart-phone to control the anti theft feature and other functions.

This product is Tassa-certified and recognized by most insurance companies. It will decrease the chance of your joy and pride being stolen. Remote Control

We can connect your Ghost device to your mobile app to allow remote control of keyless start and go functionality. This is useful when a valet or mechanic has to start your car, but you are and not in the vicinity. The system will allow you to turn the car on, select drive and quit service mode without needing your key fobs. You can also see your vehicle's location in real-time on a map on your smartphone, ideal for tracking your car whilst in motion.

The Ghost can be positioned under the dashboard or inside the center console. It is completely hidden and tamperproof and does not require extra wiring. The device is connected to CAN Data Network of the vehicle (similar to an Ethernet cable) and a personal pin code is programmed in it. The pin code needs to be selected prior to the engine starting. This stops thieves from gaining access to the system by using a cloned or replaced ECU.

If the vehicle is taken away, the Ghost will go into service mode and disable all functions unless you have a PIN number or use the mobile application to disable it. This feature was developed to protect you vehicle from thieves with high-tech equipment who employ relay boxes to take it. It also stops thieves from being able to use their mobile phones to activate your sat nav system or MP3 player to locate your vehicle!

Ghost also can stop "Relay Style Frequency Amplification". This is the most frequent method of stealing a vehicle using a keyfob that's duplicated or stolen through hacking. Ghost can help you prevent this theft by installing a device known as Secure-A Key inside your vehicle. The device installs inside the key-fob in your vehicle and removes the battery after a short period of inactivity. This can be done on most modern PKE key-fobs.
